Fenway and Hattie by Victoria J. Coe

Fenway And Hattie -Book
Do you like dogs? I do. I have a dog named Charlie who is half Collie, half Labrador retriever, but one hundred percent my best friend in the whole world. So when I went to the library and saw this book cover I knew it was going to be a good book!

And it was! You know why? Because Fenway is the dog and the whole book is written by Fenway! Which I think is pretty impressive. Tracy says that the lady, Victoria J. Coe, actually wrote the book, but it sounds to me like probably Fenway told her what to say.

What I liked about the book:

  • Fenway is so funny!  My favorite scene in the whole book is when his owner Hattie (who is a kid like me) takes him to Obedience Class. Fenway causes a bit of a commotion and the other dogs are so funny, too!
  • I like that Fenway is confused about the move. When we go away, Charlie has to stay with someone else, usually Ralph, and I bet she wonders if we are ever coming back. I always cry when we leave her and sometimes I cry when I see her again. So I get why Fenway would be worried.
  • I loved what Fenway calls Hattie’s parents: Food Lady and Fetch Man. After I read this book I called my mom Food Lady. She wasn’t impressed. Tracy thought it was funny though!

I think you would really like this book. I give it 5 Lester stars!

P.S: The librarian just told me there’s going to be another book in the series!  This one is going to be called Fenway and Hattie and the Evil Bunny Gang! How funny is that!!!
